- Local news item, "Doddridge County Republican," Thursday, June 22 1916, in its entirety:
"Mrs. Riley Pigott of Long Bottom, Ohio, formerly Miss Daile Coffman of Central Station, W.Va., and of Harrisonburg, Ohio, spent a few days here recently, the guest of old friends of her early girlhood days. Mrs. Pigott is a granddaughter of Augustus W. Coffman, formerly a prominent citizen of Pike Fork, McClellan District. Her husband is a son of Dexter L. Pigott, a wealthy resident of Long Bottom, Ohio, formerly one of this county's most brilliant men. The many friends of this splendid young couple will doubtless be pleased to hear of their wedding, which occurred at Pomeroy Saturday, June 10, the culmination of a happy acquaintance beginning in their early childhood days."
