Notes for: Christopher Columbus Smith
The following is a verbatim account by an immediate family member of Christopher Columbus Smith. Its accuracy has not been verified.
"As the story goes, Sarah Smith died of tuberculosis in 1916. C. C. Smith was depressed, or whatever. He allegedly went to Arkansas to pick strawberries and was murdered for his money by an Indian (who was captured right away). He was allegedly killed from a blow on the back of his head from a tomahawk or hatchet. His son-in-law "Oren" Lee Dilly (who was married to Clair Este Smith) traveled to Arkansas to bring his body home. Buried in Roberts Cemetery."
