The entry pertaining to Andrew Miller in "Union and Confederate Soldiers and Sympathizers of Barbour County, West Virginia," p. 71, is quoted in its entirety:
"MILLER, Andrew. Enl. Co H, 10th W.Va. Inf. 5-8-62; disch. 5-7-65. Tenant; $0/50; b. Barbour 1824; Methodist Episcopal Church; married Rebecca Nutter 1845; moved to Doddridge Co., W.Va. after war, then Ritchie Co., W.Va. where d. 1888; widow listed Union veterans 1890. Son of Martin and Margaret (Lochrea) Miller; grandson of John & Janet Miller, settled Barbour from South Branch 1780's."
(Note: Andrew Miller's wife, Rebecca Nutter Miller, filed for a widow's pension on Aug 4 1888, two weeks after his death. She participated in the June 1890 Special Veterans Schedule on behalf of her deceased husband. Andrew Miller's service dates were reported there as Feb 1 1862 to May 21 1865, at variance from the dates reported above.)
