Item in a column titled "News of the Week Forty Years Ago" in the May 4 1916 issue of the "West Union Record":
"Our genial friend Geo. S. Martin, who lately sold his drug store to Dew & Charter, left Monday for Kingwood, Preston Co., where he will engage in his chosen avocation. He leaves many friends who lament his departure. He was a good business man and an exemplary citizen. May success attend you, George, in your new home."
