Notes for: Doris Yvonne Grimm

Following her 1940 graduation from Salem College with a music degree, Doris was invited to study at the former New York School of Music, but her stay was shortened by her service during most of World War II in Washington, D.C., where she was employed by the former Office of Strategic Services and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Afterwards, she was employed as a music and English teacher at Pullman High School during the year prior to its closing. She was later employed for 12 years by the Ritchie County School System working in Pennsboro, Ellenboro, Harrisville and Cairo Schools as an English teacher and a traveling music teacher.
