Notes for: Thomas Nutter

In 1760, Thomas Nutter moved his family to Rockingham County, VA, and then to Augusta Co. In about 1769, the family moved to Fayette Co, PA, where they lived until about 1772, when they moved to the area of present-day Clarksburg, WV. Thomas Nutter served the Colonies in the Revolutionary War as an Ensign in Captain William Lowther's Company. Thomas built Nutter's Fort in present- day Harrison County, WV.
