Notes for: William Hudson Ramsey

News item, "West Union Record," Thursday, October 7 1915, in its entirety:
ANOTHER WHOLESALE HOUSE ACCORDING TO REPORT
According to reports, West Union is to have another wholesale house. A deal has just recently been closed whereby the J. B. Markey company purchased a lot 40 by 86 feet from W. H. Ramsey for $2500. This lot fronts on Court Street and runs back along Railroad Street.
It is understood that it is the purpose of the purchasers to erect a wholesale house on this site. This is a splendid location for such a business, as there is a good frontage on Court Street and it is easily accessible to the railroad.

Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, August 26 1915, in its entirety:
"The many friends of Mr. W. H. Ramsey will learn with regret that he is seriously ill at his home on Court Street. Mr. Ramsey is a veteran of the war of 1861 and is in his 75th year. He moved to this city at the close of the war and is one of our most highly respected citizens. We hope for his early recovery."
