Thos. Wells, 60, miller; Drusilla, 44; R. A. (male), 17; G. D. (male), 13; J. J. (male), 8; Wm. J., 6; M. E. (female), 7; F. N. (male), 3; T. R. (male), 3 months. All born in Virginia except for Thomas, born in Pennsylvania.
(NOTE: The next enumerated household was that of Floyd Neely, a prominent citizen of the county. It is likely that son F. N. was named for him.)

1870 Census, Wood Co, WV (City of Parkersburg), enumerated on Aug 21 1870:
