NOTE: The next enumerated household was that of Noah James.

1870 Census, Tyler Co, WV (Centerville District), enumerated on Jul 22 1870:
Isaac Owens, 39, farmer, value of real estate $1,400, value of personal estate $450, cannot read/write; Nancy, 18; George, 15; Susan, 14; Mary, 13; Ellen, 12; Isaac, 11; Rhoda, 10; Sarah, 9; Samuel, 8; Lurana, 6; Isaiah, 6.
NOTE: The stated ages of many of the children are inconsistent with other records. Isaac Owens' first wife Mary died in July 1868. Two months later, he married his second wife, Nancy Gallien, age 15. A neighboring family in this enumeration was that of Joseph L. Rogers, who was murdered in 1871. Isaac Owens was convicted of that murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
