Notes for: James H. McClure

He was a top fuel Harley Davidson engine designer and manufacturer with his son at their business in James City, Virginia. He was a global manufacturer and distributor of the Overkill Engine and parts for nitromethane-powered Harley-Davidson drag bikes. In 1995, he became the first person to go 200 mph in the quarter-mile on a normally aspirated Harley-Davidson drag bike. His many other achievements included 19 national and world drag bike championships. He was inducted into the National Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2001.
