Notes for: Martha Kelley
Moved with family from Pennsylvania to Marion Co, (W)VA in 1828, then later to Doddridge County, where they settled on Lower Run in Southwest District. It is noted that despite Benjamin Wilson's birthplace being reported as Pennsylvania, census records indicate (West) Virginia.

1860 Census, Doddridge Co, Virgina (now West Virginia), enumerated on Jul 9 1860:
B. Wilson, 51, farmer, value of real estate $3,000, value of personal estate $500; Martha, 50; J. (male), 19; L. (female), 17; M. (female), 15; Liddy, 13; James, 11. All born in Virginia.
1870 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (Southwest Twp), enumerated on Sep 1 1870:
Benj F Wilson, 62, b. Va, farmer, value of real estate $4,000, value of personal estate $1,000, cannot write; Martha Wilson, 60, b. Va, cannot write; Lidia Wilson, 22; James K. Wilson, 19; Martha Hess, 25; Marion E. Hess, 3; Lidia L. Hess, 1.
The adjoining household consisted of:
Joshua Wilson, 29, farmer, value of real estate (blank), value of personal estate $1,000; Mary 28; Rosa, 7.Emery, 4, Olive, 3; Estie, 1; Jacob Watson, 29, farm laborer, value of real estate $660, value of personal estate $250. (Two years later, this Jacob Watson married Benjamin Wilson's daughter Lydia.)
