In the 1870 Census of Sardis District, Harrison Co WV, Newton Kincaid, age 20, was listed as a farm laborer in the household of Henry Buzzard and his family. A nearby family was that of William & Elizabeth Davis, whose 18-year-old daughter Sarah was to become Newton's wife the following year.
