1870 Census, Wetzel Co, WV (Green Twp), enumerated on Jun 27 1870:
Horatio Britten, 44, farmer; Martha J, 35; Asberry S, 20; Mark, 17; Fernando D, 14; Fielding H, 12; Almyra V, 10; George B Mc, 7; Ida A Malsed, 7.
Following Elizabeth's death, Horatio married Martha J. (Milburn) Malsed, widow of Civil War veteran Andrew J. Malsed, and moved his family to Tyler/Wetzel County. He and Martha had one child together, daughter Viola, but they soon separated. Horatio then relocated to Ritchie County, where he was residing with son John and his family as of the 1880 Census.
