| 6864 | Based on census records, Enos Bee was born as early as 1825 or as late as 1833. Based on marriage records, he was born as early as 1827 or as late as 1832. The 1827 date is considered most likely, as it is found in the earliest census return and in his first two marriage records. 1860 Census, Doddridge Co, Virginia (now West Virginia), enumerated on Jun 5 1860: Enos Bee, 33, farmer; Martha, 55; F Y (female), 7; E A (female), 5; Hannah, 35; Maria, 30. All born in Virginia. (Note: It appears that Enos' wife Elizabeth had already died, as the adult women of the household consisted of his mother, sister and half-sister.) 1870 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (New Milton Twp), enumerated on Aug 6 1870: Enos Bee, 35 (sic), farmer; Hannah Bee, 38; Elizabeth A. Bee, 15. (Note: Relationships were not indicated in these two censuses. Despite the age discrepancies, Hannah and Maria are believed to be Enos' sisters.) 1880 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (New Milton District), enumerated on Jun 5 1880: Enos Bee, 55, farmer, b. W.Va, father b. N.J., mother b. Va; wife Martha, 58, b. Pa, both parents b. Pa. 1900 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (New Milton District), enumerated on Jun 18 1900: Enos Bee, 67, b. Mar 1833 in W.Va, farmer, married 47 yrs; wife Martha, 70, b. Nov 1829 in Pa, both parents b. Pa, married 47 yrs, mother of 8 children (7 still living). | BEE, Enos (I52311)
|
| 6865 | Based on census records, Hannah was born as early as 1822 or as late as 1832, with her marriage record putting it in between at about 1826. Although the earliest record appears to be the most reliable, there still remains the conflict that Jonathan married Martha Howard in 1817, and Hannah's mother was reportedly Margaret. 1880 Census, Lewis Co, WV (Freemans Creek District), enumerated on Jun 26 1880: William Frazier, 68, farmer, suffering from dropsy; wife Hannah, 50; sister-in-law Mariah, 41; nephew Nimrod, 16; nephew William G, 11; nephew Harvey L, 6. (Note: The birthplace for everyone was West Virginia. The birthplace for Hannah's father was New Jersey, and Virginia for her mother, while the birthplace for both of Mariah's parents was listed as New Jersey. This is at variance from the Virginia birthplace that is found for Mariah's mother in her marriage record and all census records. It does lend credence, however, to the idea that Hannah was a half-sister to the rest of her father's children.) The following enumeration pertains to William and his family with his first wife: 1850 Census, Harrison Co, Virginia (now West Virginia), enumerated on Aug 30 1850: William Frazier, 38, farmer, value of real estate $1,000; Jemima, 37, cannot read/write; Joseph, 17; Eliza, 15; John, 13; Abraham, 11; David, 9; Rebecca, 7; Albert, 5. | Family: William FRASHURE / Hannah BEE (F19880)

| 6866 | Based on locations and ages, the following census records appear to pertain to the family of this Rufus Brown. 1810 Census, Brooklyn, Windham County, Connecticut: Household of Rufus Brown: 1 male age 26-44 1 male age 10-15 3 males under age 10 1 female age 26-44 1 female age 45 or older No entry for this Rufus Brown was found in the 1820 Census. There is a Rufus Brown and his family listed in that census in the town of Thompson in Windham County, but that was found through probate records to be a different Rufus Brown, who died in 1825 and whose wife was Huldah. 1830 Census, Pittsfield, Otsego Co, New York: Household of Rufus Brown: 1 male age 50-60 1 male age 20-30 1 female age 50-60 1 female age 15-20 Rufus Brown died in July 1832 and was survived by his wife Mary, who died in January 1838. A record of their children's names is found in Grantor Record Book 65, p. 413, Cooperstown NY, dated Feb 29 1840, in which the children of Rufus Brown signed a Conveyance-Indenture transferring ownership of his property to them. This was presumably done as part of the settlement of Rufus's estate, or perhaps of Mary's. Rufus and Mary probably died in Otsego County, their last known residence and the place of their burial. | Family: Rufus BROWN / Mary WILLIAMS (F25297)

| 6894 | Benjamin Franklin Jaco was not the natural son of Elizabeth Prunty, but rather was born out of wedlock to Susan(nah) Tucker, with his birth name being Benjamin Tucker. This is based to some extent on partially illegible records of an 1846 court case in Doddridge County, in which Benjamin Tucker, age 3, was bound over to Luke Jaco. (Another court proceeding established Luke Jaco as the father of Emma Tucker, who was born at the home of James Fleming as the illegitimate daughter of Susannah Tucker.) Partial transcripts of the 1846 proceedings are as follows: May 1846 Term "On motion of one of the overseers of the (illegible) ordered that some one at their body (illegible) bind (illegible) out Benjamin Tucker, an illegitimate child age 3 years, on 21st Jun 1846 to Luke Jaco until he arrives to the age of twenty one."
