- Local news item, West Union Herald, Thursday, July 24 1913:
"Ralph Bee, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Bee, was operated on for appendicitis at the home of his parents on Church Street last Thursday evening, the operation being performed by Drs. Mason, of Clarksburg, and McGovern and Poole of this place. He is getting along as well as can be expected. Miss Margeret Thomas, of Bellvue, N.Y., is nursing him. His many friends hope for his speedy recovery."
