- 1850 Census, Harrison County, Virginia (now West Virginia), enumerated on Aug 20 1850:
Joseph Vincent, 36, farmer; Sarah, 33; William, 16; John, 13; Basheba, 10; Margaret, 9; Sandford, 4; Mary, 3.
1860 Census, Doddridge County, Virginia (now West Virginia), enumerated on Jun 29 1860:

We were unable to find an 1870 Census for this family. Children Rebecca (the age-7 female "B" above) and Abraham were listed in the household of Samuel & Martha (Langfitt) McMillan in Grant Township of Doddridge County.
1880 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (New Milton District), enumerated on Jun 21 1880:
Joseph J. Vincent, 66, farmer; wife Lida, 42; son Benjamin F, 15; dau Ellen, 14; son James, 11; dau Jemima, 9; dau Surepta, 7; son Rezin, 5; son Joseph F, 2; son Lewis H., 11 months (born in May).
NOTE: Although Lida (Pinell) Vincent appears with her family in the 1880 Census, the Federal Census Mortality Schedule for that year indicates that she had died the previous November. Each of the U.S. Federal Censuses from 1850-1880 included a mortality schedule enumerating the individuals who had died in the year previous to the census year. In addition, each individual is linked to the census image on which they appear. [Ancestry.com]
Some researchers report an additional child for Joseph I. Vincent and Lida Arthelia Pinell, namely Jane Vincent, born in 1881. We have found no evidence of this child, and the documented 1879 death date of Lida directly refutes it.
