Know all men by these presents that we, Joseph Pinell & Israel Kinney, are held & firmly bound unto David Campbell Esq, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia for the time being & his successors in office in the office of Governor for the ??? of the Commonwealth, in the final sum of One Hundred & Fifty Dollars for the payment of which we bind ourselves ?? & each of our heirs firmly by these presents. Sealed with out seals & dated this 3rd day of July 1837.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be had & solemnized between the above bound Joseph Pinell & Anna Knight ------ Now if there be no lawful cause or just impediment to obstruct said marriage, then the above obligations to be void, else to remain in full force & virtue in law.
