      Identified as M. J. Lovett, white male, b. Sep 2 1874 in Doddridge County, son of M. J. Lovitt & Mary Brown. Informant: Henry Brown, grandfather.
      (NOTE: This child appeared in the 1880 Census as grandson John Lovett in the household of John Henry Brown. His mother Mary Brown was also present, but no one else with the name Lovett. In subsequent censuses and records, he was known almost exclusively by the name John T. Brown. We have found no evidence that his parents ever married. Though no connection is known, it is noted in Nov 1874, Madison J. Lovett married Rebecca J. Stout in Doddridge County.)
