- 1910 Census, Doddridge County, WV (McClellan District), enumerated on April 23, 1910:
Claud Dye, 26, farmer, can read, cannot write, married 6 yrs; wife Allie J, 25, can read/write, married 6 yrs, mother of 3 children (all still living); dau Lulie B, 5; son William C, 3; son Ora D, 9 months.
The next enumerated household was that of Allie's parents, William & Martha Booher, and their children Claudius, Ada, Arla and Velma.
Claude Dye died in Vinton County, Ohio, on 10 October 1917.
1920 Census, Doddridge County, WV (McClellan District), enumerated on January 29, 1920:
Allie J. Dye, 36, widowed, no occupation; dau Lulu B, 15; son Chanath W, 13; son Ora D, 11; son Burlin H, 9; dau Hazel V, 4y 6m; son Claudious S, 1y 6m. All born in West Virginia.
The next enumerated household was that of Allie's parents, with no children still at home.
Allie's son Eugene Harold Dye was born in McClellan District on 20 Nov 1925. Eugene's birth record and obituary identified his parents as Vincent A. Prunty and Allie J. Booher, who were not married.
Allie married Samuel Dotson on 6 January 1929 at her parents' home in McClellan District.
1930 Census, Tyler County, WV (McElroy District), enumerated on April 12, 1930 at Walnut Fork of Indian Creek:
Samuel Dotson, 55, farmer, age 54 at time of first marriage; wife Allie Dotson, 45, age 18 at first marriage; stepson Berlin Dye, 19, single, farm worker; stepdau Hazel Dye, 16; stepson Claude Dye, 11; stepson Eugene Dye, 4.
Note: Six weeks after this enumeration, Hazel Dye married Walter Dillon in Dale, Tyler County, at the residence of the officiating Minister of the Gospel, Samuel Dotson.
In the next two census years, Allie was found in the household of one of her children.
1940 Census, Tyler County, WV (Centerville District), enumerated on April 20, 1940, in the village of Wilbur:
Walter Dillon, 31, farmer; wife Hazel, 28; dau Stella, 7; son Frank, 4; son Gene, 1; mother-in-law Allie Dotson, 54, widowed; half-brother Eugene Dye, 16; brother Cecil Dillon, 29.
Note: In this census, Allie's huband Samuel Dotson was enumerated in McClellan District, Doddridge County, living alone, marital status married, no occupation. We have found no subsequent record of him. In the 1950 Census, Allie had reverted to her previous married name Dye and stated that she was a widow.
1950 Census, Lake County, Ohio (Concord Township), enumerated on May 10, 1950 on Route 44:
