"The funeral of the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Barr was held at the old home near Burton, Monday, July 31, and the interment was in charge of A. J. Osborne, funeral director, who with the little brother of the deceased, accompanied the remains to the old homestead in Monongalia County, some miles out from Burton."
Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Aug 3 1916, in its entirety:
"The body of the infant child born Saturday night to Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Barr and which was almost immediately claimed by the Death Angel was taken by Funeral Director A. J. Osborne to their old home at Burton, Sunday and laid to rest by the side of two little sisters in the Wadestown cemetery. Mrs. Barr is critically ill, but hopes are entertained for her ultimate recovery."
