John and Gertrude divorced within a couple of years. Both remarried in 1915, John to Lela Lance, and Gertrude to Luther G. Dozier. But Gertrude and Luther were soon divorced. 1920 Census, Marion Co, WV (City of Fairmont), enumerated on Jan 16 1920 on Jefferson Street: Gertrude Doziers [sic], 37, divorced, gown maker. No other household members. NOTE: John & Gertrude's two sons were enumerated in 1920 in the household of John's parents in Tenmile District, Harrison County. Meanwhile, John and Lela had three children in quick succession. 1920 Census, Harrison Co, WV (City of Clarksburg), enumerated on Feb 7 1920 at 616 W. Main Street: John Flint, 36, contractor for gas company; wife Lela, 25; dau Irene, 3y 5m; dau Madelene, 2y 7m; dau Geraldine, 1 month; boarder Lena Derris, 21, single, nurse for private family. All born in West Virginia. John died in Ohio in 1927. Gertrude again remarried and divorced prior to 1930, when she was enumerated in Indiana with her son Oris Wilson Flint. 1930 Census, St. Joseph Co, Indiana (City of South Bend), enumerated on Apr 2 1930 at 424 W. Madison: Gertrude Fennell, 46, b. WVa, divorced, occupation modiste; son Wilson Flint, 21, b. WVa, marital status illegible, occupation theater usher. Gertrude remarried once more in 1937 and was enumerated with her new husband in the 1940 Census. 1940 Census, St. Joseph Co, Indiana (City of South Bend), enumerated on Apr 11 1940 at 117 South Franklin Place: Roscoe L. Jordan, 51, b. Indiana, occupation (blank); wife Gertrude, 56, b. WVa, proprietor of ladies' tailor shop. In October 1940, she was listed as Gertrude Jordan of South Bend, Indiana on son Wilson's draft regirstration card. In May 1969, she was identified in brother Oris Stutler's obituary as surviving sister Gertrude Jordan of California. Her own death occurred just eleven days later.
