- Local news item, West Union Herald, Thursday, Nov 11 1920, in its entirety:
"Minter J. Springston, aged 53 years, son of John [sic] Springston, of Harrison County, died at the County Infirmary on Sunnyside last Wednesday, and funeral services were conducted by H. W. Thomas on Thursday, and interment made in the Home Cemetery. A. J. Osborned, funeral director."
NOTE: The Home Cemetery is a reference to the pauper cemetery on the grounds of the County Home, also known as the County Infirmary or the County Poor Farm. Identification of his father as John rather than William is clearly incorrect. The same error was made in his State death certificate, with his mother's name left blank. The death record on file in Doddridge County does not list his parents.
