He was honored for his service by receipt of numerous awards and distinctions including being inducted into the WV Agriculture and Forestry Hall of Fame, West Virginia University College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Consumer Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award, Honorary Chapter, State, and American Farmer Degrees from the National FFA Organization, the WV FFA’s Distinguished Service Award, the National FFA’s VIP Citation, the Mountaineer Collegiate FFA’s Honorary Mountaineer Lifetime Achievement Award, the Carroll Greene State Supervisor of the Year Award, and Outstanding Senior Citizen of Tyler County. Jim participated in the Tyler County Harvest Festival with the Alma Senior Citizens just last month, fundraising for their scholarship program.
