    • When Virginia Williams' mother Lona died three days after Virginia's birth, Virginia and all her siblings were placed in an orphanage in Braxton County. Virginia was soon adopted by Aldridge C. Kidd and Amie Cunningham Boyce Kidd, who raised her in Harrison County.

      Virginia married Alfred Gaston in 1945. They had daughter Patricia in 1946, son Robert in 1947, and daughter Linda in 1949. The record of Virginia's second remarriage in 1964 states that she and Alfred had divorced on 16 May 1964. But they had separated prior to the 1950 Census, when
      children Robert and Linda were enumerated in the household of Virginia's adoptive parents.
