- Serving under Gen George Patton, he was wounded in Germany and recovered in a hospital in France until he was sent home to the States. He earned the Purple Heart, 3 Bronze Stars on a ribbon, and several other medals. He was a true American Hero. He had 80% disability but recovered enough to support his family.
