Christena McKeever, 69, weaver; Mary McKeever, 35, keeping house; Idella McKeever, 13; Wilbert, 10. All born in Virginia, now West Virginia.
1880 Census, Ritchie County, WV (Clay District), enumerated on 16 June 1880:
Christene McKeever, 76, widowed [sic], weaver; granddau Idella M. McKeever, 21, keeping house; grandson Samuel W. McKeever, laborer.
Note: In this census, Christina's daughter Mary E. McKeever, widowed [sic], was listed as a servant in the household of widower Eli Chenoweth and his 8-year-old son in Morgantown, Monongalia County. We have found no evidence that either Mary or her mother ever married. It was common at that time for unmarried mothers to self-report as widows. The 1880 Census is the last record we have found of both Christina and Mary.
