      NOTE: An entry for another child had been made, then crossed out, between Victoria and Mary. It appears to read dau Dora R, 27, b. Aug 1873, married. At first glance, John Woofter's middle initial looks like a C, but closer examination shows it to be a G.

      NOTE: Despite Rebecca's stated widowed marital status, her husband was present for this census, living alone in another part of the county:

      There are two conflicting records on file for the death of John Granville Woofter, with the location of death varying and all else being in agreement. (1) The ledger-style death record entry at the Doddridge County Courthouse shows the location of death as Cove District in Doddridge County.
      (2) The Death Certificate issued by the State Division of Vital Statistics shows the location of death as Freemans Creek District in Lewis County.
