    • The parents of this Robert Lowther, husband of Mary Ann Spurgeon, have not been definitively identified. There is speculation that this may be the Robert Lowther who some researchers include in the family of Thomas Lowther (1767-1816) and Mary Coburn. But his death record identifies him as the son of Thomas and Catherine. See the entry for Thomas Lowther (1767-1816) for an extensive discussion of this subject.
