Meriland Lee BARTEE

1941 -

• Name	Meriland Lee BARTEE
Birth	13 May 1941	Oxford, Doddridge Co, WV   [1, 2]
There are two birth records on file for her in Doddridge County. BR 5-10F identifies her as Meriland Lee Bartee, the second child of her mother. The original entry had only the child's last name, with the first and middle names added later by hand with the notation "First name completed by mother 8/6/62." This would be six days before Meriland's marriage, where she also was identified as Meriland Lee Bartee. But a second birth record, Delayed BR 2-5, identifies child as Marilyn Lee Bartee, father identified as Clem Marilyn [sic] Bartee. (This is only known instance of his middle name being specified, and the circumstances leave some doubt as to the accuracy.) The delayed entry was "recorded on authority of affidavit of Juanita M. Bartee, mother of child," dated and recorded on Apr 30 1957.
