    • Although the birth date on his headstone is 1896, it appears that Raymond Pearcy was actually born in 1894. The 1900 Census shows his birth date as March 1894, and age 16 in the 1910 Census also puts it in about 1894. His WW I draft registratin specifies his birth date as March 4 1894. However, in his WW II draft registration and in his death record, his birth date is indicated as March 4 1896. There is no original record of his birth. Rather, the only record of his birth is a delayed entry filed by his aunt Cora Orrahood Irons in February 1954, and it indicates a birth date of March 4 1896. Under these circumstances, and in conjunction with the verified birth dates of his siblings, it appears that the 1894 birth date is more reliable.
