    Notes
    • At time of his death, he had been employed for fifteen years as superintendent of W. Brent Maxwell's farm in Doddridge County. He was mis-identified in son Grant's obit as "Isaac A. Hileman." Son Willis' obituary stated that he was survived by sisters Maysel, Maybell and Pearl, and by "one step-sister, Mrs. Jim (Rachel) Leeson, Oxford." This would actually be a half-sister, Rachel S. Pierce, dau of Willis' mother Lucinda Richmond and her second husband Esta Waitman Pierce. Willis' obituary also states that he was predeceased by nine brothers and five sisters, some of whom, it would seem, were probably step-siblings. Isaac's own obituary contained numerous factual errors regarding names and dates.
