  Notes	As a whiskey distiller, it is said that Stephen Tichenall/Titchenell used to remark jokingly: "If you want to raise preachers, raise them in a still house; that is where I raised two good ones." Sons Daniel and Moses were ministers of the M. E. Church. Stephen's descendants have adopted the Titchenell spelling of their name. His children: Mary, James, Moses, Joshua, Margaret, Daniel, Rebecca, Lydia, Stephen.
