      Identified as Emmy Fleming, age 4y 7m 15d, female (sic), parents Thomas & Cassa Fleming; died Oct 20 1873 of diptheria. Informant: Cassa Fleming, mother. (NOTE: Intended spelling of name is not clear in the handwritten entry. Based on age and similarity of name, however, this would be the same child identified in the 1870 Census as 2-yr-old son Emery. Age at death calculates to a birth date of Mar 5 1869, but birth record of Emoy (sic) Fleming, son of Thomas & Casander, shows it as Apr 10 1868, in keeping with the census age. Identification as female in his death record is an apparent clerical error.)
