      Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Jan 18 1917, its entirety:
      "We are all glad to hear the bell in the tower of the Court House tolling off the hours again, as the clock has been out of commission for a few weeks. Willie Noble repaired the clock and set it in motion last Wednesday evening; the stroke of its bell was badly missed by our citizens who were used to get up by it, eat by it, and go to bed by it."
