    • On May 6, 1918, Dr. B. I. Hudkins performed surgery on John Samuel "Sam"Jenkins for appendicitis. Jenkins died the next day when "he jumped from his bed and died of shock" when the Big Isaac flood hit. The flood occurred Tuesday, May 7, 1918.
