  Notes	William Davison came to America in 1685 from Leith, Scotland. Tradition has the ship name the Caledonia. He arrived in East Jersey in late Oct 1684/85. Railroad tracks were built across William & Margaret's land, destroying the family burying ground. It is said that the Battle of Monmouth (6/28/1778) was fought from a battery position on William Davison's land, and that it was from the brook on his land that American Revolutionary heroine Mary Ludwig Hays, better known as Molly Pitcher, carried water to the fighting patriot troops.
