"Doddridge County Republican," Thursday, Oct 15 1914, in its entirety:
"On last Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Heflin in Wabash addition, was the scene of a very pretty wedding when Miss Cloe Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Davis, and Mr. E. R. Smith of Salem, were united in marriage by Rev. John D. Runkle of the Baptist church.
"The bride is one of our very best young ladies and is held in high esteem by all who know her; the groom is one of Harrison county's business men and is deservedly popular.
"While this happy couple will make Salem their future home, we join a host of friends in extending congratulations and best wishes."
