      The entry is for an unnamed female Gray, b. Feb 18 1897 at Oxford, dau of D. W. Gray & Martha Leggett. This conforms to the birth information contained in the death record of Blanche Vallie Gray Maxwell. Headstone incorrectly states birth as 1896, date not specified.

      There are two death certificates on file. One, filed under Register No. 430, identifies the deceased as Blanche V. Maxwell, married female, age 23y 10m 6d, b. Feb 18 1897 at Oxford, dau of David W. Gray & Martha E. Leggett, d. Dec 24 1920 at New Milton, Doddridge Co, informant A. J. Osborne, West Union (thought to be the undertaker). The other death certificate, filed under Register No. 8170, identified her as Blanche Vallie Maxwell, married female, age 23, b. 1897 at Oxford, dau of David Gray & (blank), d. Dec 24 1920 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, Wood Co WV, cause of death goitre, buried at West Union WV on Dec 25 1920, undertaker Carney Jackson & Enoch of Parkersburg, informant (illegible), M. D.
