      Identified as Mintus Delores Hart, white female, dau of Andrew N. & Emmeline Hart. The original entry in the typed transcribed ledger-style birth record has her birth date as June 25 1885, but affidavit submitted by uncle David Dow Gaston in the 1940's corrected it to January 25 1885. Regardless, this the same daughter identifed in the 1900 Census as Denovas M. Hart, born Jan 1882, and in Andrew N. Hart's obituary as Denova M. Smith of Clarksburg. She is identified in her death record as Mintus D. Smith, b. Jan 25 1885, dau of Andrew N. Hart & Emmaline Britton. Although the Jan 1882 birth date is more likely, we report the Jan 25 1885 date here to conform to the official records.
