"O. L. Helmick, the hustling merchant of our little city, is doing a hustling business in a hustling way, wearing a broad smile and returing a kind 'thank you' to all customers."
Local news item, "Doddridge County Republican," Thursday, Dec 7 1916, in its entirety:
"O. L. Helmich, the well known Sedalia merchant, was a Friday's business visitor. Doddridge County has few better youn business men that O. L., and his mercantile business is one of the most prosperous in the county. We might add that if all country merchants had the "push" that this young fellow has, there would be much less business for the mail-order houses in this section!"
