Identified as Mary Elizabeth Jenkins, white female, born March 14 1907 in West Union, dau of Walter & Dovey Jenkins. Informant: W. C. Abel, physician. The original typed entry in the ledger-style record book had only the child's last name. The first and middle names were later handwritten in pen. (Note: The headstone for Mary E. Platt Sheppard at the Masonic Cemetery in West Union is reported in Wes Cochran's "West Union Cemeteries" as having her birth date as March 7 1907. But her birth record and SSDI entry show it as March 14 1907.)
