      "The body of lst Lt. Raymond A. Burdick, son of School Supt. and Mrs. Andrew J. Burdick, 1908 Holland, arrived at 3:16 p .m. today In Union Station and was met by the Moyar's Committee for the War Dead.
      Lieutenant Burdick was killed in a midair collision of planes on Luzon in the Philippines, Apr. 27, 1945.
      The funeral will be private from the Burdick home. The Rev. Paul Roy, pastor, Central Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Sauquoit Valley Cemetery.
      Lieutenant Burdick enjlsted in the Air Corps Jan. 30, 1943. He received his pilot training at the University of Buffalo, Maxwell Field, Ala., and Clarksdale, Greenville and Jackson, Miss. On May 13, 1944, he was sent to the Pacific as a pilot in the Army Air Transport Command. He served in the New Guinea area and took part in the landing on Leyte and other islands of the Philippines.
      Posthumous awards of the Air Medal and two oak leaf clusters were made to his parents in 1945.
      Lieutenant Burdick was born in Cortland Jan. 9, 1923. He graduated from the Utica Free Academy in 1940 and completed two years at the University of Michigan. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and the University Band. During the summers he was employed by Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester."
