      Identified as John Crawford, 40, b. Center County, Pennsylvania, res. Doddridge Co; and Nancy Ann Williams, 27, b. & res. in Doddridge Co. Marriage license issued January 8 1897. However, there was no return or indorsement to indicate that the marriage ever actually took place. But subsequent census records show her marital status as married or widowed and with her surname, and her children's, as Crawford. But John Crawford was not present with her for those census enumerations.
