JUGGLING AND TWISTING A NAME
We venture to say that no other man in West Union has had his name juggled, twisted, distorted and generally mixed up as much as J. C. Stitt, the genial Division Superintendent of the Carnegie Natural Gas Company. Here are a few of the many distortions from the correct form, in which Mr. Stitt has received mail and other communications: "Stich," "Stick," "Slip," Still," "Slitt," "Stull," "Stutts," "Stilt," "Strutt." Altho one of the most Americans, he once received a letter address in the name of a Hun, "Mr. Stitz," but when on another occasion he was addressed as "Mr. Stiff," the last straw was added, this being too much for him to bear and he went out and wept.
