Notes	Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Jan 11 1917, in its entirety: "Born to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey McConnell, of Wabash, Saturday, January 6th, an 8-1/2 lb. daughter. Mother and child doing nicely." Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Sep 19 1918, in its entirety: "Harvey E. McConnell, who for several years has been the faithful and efficient foreman for the Republican, has resigned to accept a position with the Hope. West Union has no better young man than Harvey and here's for his continued success." Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Oct 24 1918, in its entirety: "Since the retirement of Roy E. Meek from the management of the Herald, its affairs have been looked after in the best manner possible under the circumstances by its former editor and owner, P. H. Shannon. Printers have been hard to obtain, and competent ones even more so. But at last we have found a real printer, and we take pleasure this week in introducing him to the readers of this paper. He is Mr. H. E. McConnell, who will hereafter have the management and local editorial work of the Herald. Mr. McConnell is not only a competent printer and efficient writer, but a young man in every way qualified to perform the responsible duties which he has assumed in connection with the Herald. As a job printer and advertising compositor, there are few printers in this section who can put it over on him. Therefore, with these remarks we present him to the Herald family and ask for him their faithful support and confidence." Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Jul 8 1920, in its entirety: The West Union Herald office is now located on 213 East Main Street, next door below Uncle Townsend Davis' residence. We invite a call while in town. Our job printing outfit is ordered and we hope to be able in a few days to begin supplying your orders in this line.
