      Thigh Smashed
      PARKERSBURG, W.Va., January 5 - Adam J. Ash had his right thigh smashed and was injured inwardly while riding on a train this morning near West Union, and will probably die.

      MR. ADAM J. ASH, who resided near West Union, met with a sudden and fearful death at that place last Saturday. It seems that he was walking on the side track of the railroad as the accommodation east was approaching town, but labored under the impression that he was on the main track and stepped on the latter just as the train neared him. He was struck by the engine and run over, receiving injuries that resulted in his death. Mr. Ash was a quiet and respected citizen and his sad end is deeply regretted by many.
