- Paulser Flesher was a friend of Luke Jaco and lived near him on Arnolds Creek in present-day Doddridge County. The Salem-Harrisville Turnpike ran through his property.
Paulser Flesher did not live in Doddridge County for long. In the August term of 1845 he was appointed guardian of his niece and nephew, Martha Virginia Webster and Booker Livingston Webster, after his sisters death on 29 July 1845. They moved to Texas before 1850, where he died on 16 Oct 1856.
The first known John Doe case in Doddridge County, John Doe vs. Richard Roe, had something to do with the 750 acre farm that the Webster siblings inherited after their mother's death. Collectively they were probably John Doe and this was the case where their estate was sold. They would have been minors at that time, so they would have filed anonymously.
Paulser Flesher lived in Bastrop, Texas in the 1850 census . His real estate value was $600.00 and Martha Virginia Webster's real estate value was $5,302.00, presumably proceeds from the estate settlement.
