    • Nancy Britton, daughter of Andrew Osborne Britton and Mahala McIntire, was the sixth of eleven children. Her nine brothers were John, Albert, Francis, Willie, Goff, Ira, Robert, Poling, and Arthur. Her one sister was Jennie. In 1876, Andrew Osborne Britton bought a 79 acre farm on Ellis Fork, Tanner's Creek, and in 1879 he bought 269 acres on Tanner's Fork. He and Mahala spent the rest of their lives in the area of Newberne on Tanner's Creek. [8]
