    Birth:
    Although Home Knisley's military headstone application, his marriage record and his birth record itself all specify his birth date as Aug 7 1899, census records cast serious doubt on that date. He was not with his family in the 1900 Census, in which his mother's entry indicates that the four children in that census were all that she had had to that point. Similarly, he was age 9 in the 1910 Census, in which his mother's entry indicates that she had had a total of five children. The dates of the census enumerations could allow for a birth date of either Aug 7 1900 or 1901.
