    Following college, he taught Biology at the former Pennsboro High School and later was the 7th and 8th grade Science Teacher at the former Ellenboro Grade School. He later taught a Carpenters Apprentice Class at the former PRT Center in St. Marys, WV for many years. Besides teaching, Max had a great passion for carpentry that he learned from his father. He joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and worked in various plants along the Ohio River for over 60 years. Max was able to use his skills in carpentry to build his family two homes in Harrisville, WV and one home in West Union, WV by himself and still working a full time job in the carpenter’s union. Max was very proud that he was able to accomplish this task for his loving family.
